I was introduced to yoga at the age of 16 when my mom brought home a workout DVD. What began as a practice in the comfort of my living room soon expanded to studios around the world.
In 2021, I decided to become a certified yoga practitioner. Midway through my teacher training, I sustained a back injury that completely reshaped the narrative of my yoga journey. Bedridden for almost a year, the experience was not only physically challenging but also took a huge toll on my emotional well-being. This was my wake-up call. I learned that healing goes far beyond just fixing the physical body—it's a whole journey, delving into the mental and emotional layers we've been carrying since childhood. Yoga became my guide through it all.
Embracing this newfound awareness, my teachings have expanded to emphasize the importance of building strong bodies. Drawing inspiration from the physical therapists and personal trainers who played a crucial role in rebuilding my body. Simultaneously, I started to incorporate the spiritual teachings that helped reshape my mindset during this challenging time.
As a yoga practitioner, my mission is to create a safe and intentional space for students to nurture their bodies and find healing. My approach involves a deliberate, slow-paced practice that encourages students to explore the subtleties of their bodies and establish a connection with their inner world. By slowing it down, we start to make sense of our emotions, become aware of the way we speak to ourselves, and understand the narratives we construct about our lives.
